The View From Ringside

Inside the Tumultuous World of Boxing
By Thomas Hauser
Thomas Hauser's writings on boxing have been called "incomparable and indispensable" by The New York Times. A View From Ringside, comprising some of Hauser's best writing to date, is a collection of essays about professional boxing during the tumultuous period beginning with Mike Tyson's bizarre behavior during a January 2002 press conference with Lennox Lewis, and includes reflections on their heavyweight bout five months later. Other subjects include George Foreman, Roy Jones, Don King and Hauser's appearance before a Congressional hearing. Throughout, the book offers an insider's critique of boxing from top to bottom or, as Hauser might say, from the gutter up.
About the author
Thomas Hauser is the author of 29 books, including his definitive biography Muhammad Ali: His Life and Times, and The Execution of Charles Horman, which was nominated for a Pulitzer Prize. He lives in New York.
