Now Pitching For the Yankees

Spinning the News for Mickey, Billy, and George
By Marty Appel
Foreword by Yogi Berra
As the Yankees celebrate their 100th anniversary, Now Pitching is a behind-the-scenes tale of the New York Yankees as told by former public relations director Marty Appel. The book, by turns hilarious and poignant, serves up intimate portraits of Yankee superstars of the past 30 years, including tempestuous owner George Steinbrenner, managers Casey Stengel, Ralph Houk and Billy Martin; plus Hall of Famers Mickey Mantle, Yogi Berra, Whitey Ford, Reggie Jackson and several other characters.

"If you want to know what the Yankees were like before (and during) Billy Martin's various turns at the helm, Now Pitching for the Yankees just might be the best place to start." - Rob Neyer, ESPN.com
